Online Poker - Razz

Razz is a poker game similar to 7 card stud except the low cards win instead of the high cards. Several poker rooms are making this game even more popular then in recent years.

The goal is to make the best five-card low hand from the seven cards you are dealt. It is played with anywhere from 2-8 players and it's the game poker players love to hate. The dealer gives each player 2 cards to start face down and one card face up.

The player with the highest card by suit starts the action on the first round of betting. After that, players with the lowest hand begin the action. If there is a tie for the low hand, the first player to tie to the left of the dealer begins the hand. The round that follows third street is called fourth street and then the dealer deals another card face up and another round of betting takes place.

This goes on until the final round which is seventh street. The only difference on seventh street is that the last card is dealt face down to each player that remains. A regular round of betting occurs and then there is a showdown. At the showdown, players actually show each other their cards and the player with the lowest hand wins the pot.

A2345 is the best hand to have in Razz poker and flushes and straights don't count against the players low hand. Several online poker rooms have Razz tables and sit n gos including Full Tilt Poker.
