Poker Myths
There has never been more opportunity to make it in professional
poker thanks to online casino gambling. At the same time, however,
and most ironically we may add, it has never been more challenging
to make it at professional poker. EVERYONE has the same dream,
to play cards for a living.
What separates the REAL professional poker player from the every
day player that sits down at an online poker website is that the
true professional is just that; a pro! A professional poker player
realizes that poker is his business, his work, his job and treats
it as such. It’s not a fun recreation or a game.
You will quickly pick up on a trend at any online poker website
when you sit down for action. Most of the players are “wannabe’s.”
They like to emulate, or at least act like, the professional poker
players that they watch on television. They love to bluff and
try and intimidate the other players at the table. It may work
with other “wannabe’s” but eventually these lightweights get worn
down by the true professionals, who simply understand the true
fundamentals of poker and, as a result, are not intimidated by
the antics of the ignorant.
When it comes to poker, knowledge is power. The better that you
know the aspects of positioning, player tendencies, odds calculation,
and chip stack strategy, the less you will be influenced by other
factors that really have little to do with reality.
With more and more players wanting to take their shot at “going
pro” those who actually make it will be those who have the depth
of knowledge and the iron discipline to grind it out.
