Is There a Perfect Online Poker Strategy?

Sometimes the best online poker strategies just don’t work. Just when you think that you have everything set something unexpected happens. The reason for this is that poker is really a game of betting and a game of people and it also involves luck. To be successful at online poker requires doing more than just playing perfect poker strategy. Online poker is a game in which you are not going to win all the time. There are going to be times you do everything right and still lose money in a hand. The best poker strategy in the world is great to learn, but remember that it does not guarantee you will end up winning money.

Let’s illustrate the point of playing perfect poker and still losing money. Let’s say you are a pretty solid poker player and that when your position improves you play more hands. You are in a loose online Texas Holdem game and you hold a small pair like 3’s or 4’s. If you are in early or middle position you can limp in and try to hit a set. In late position you may already be facing a raise and then it is questionable whether you want to be in the hand at all. There is no perfect strategy for each position because strategy doesn’t tell you who the players at your table are or what you can get away with. Sometimes doing the right thing does not always work out very well in online poker. There is no perfect online poker strategy. If there was, then everyone would be using it.
