Online Poker Danger Hands
Sometimes some of the best looking hands in poker are often the
most dangerous. “Big Slick” of course immediately comes to mind
as the Ace King hand has blown up more bankrolls than any 2-7
hand could ever dream of and when Big Slick shows up in a suit
that’s often when trouble really begins.
Beyond Big Slick in his finely tailored suit another dangerous
hand are pocket jacks. Pocket jacks are not a highly valuable
hand in and of themselves and yet they are just attractive enough
to lead to all kinds of potential trouble. Both veteran and new
players have the tendency to overvalue pocket jacks. While a pre
flop raise is not totally out of line with pocket jacks it is
important, again, to take the true value of the hand into consideration
along with position and chip counts when warranted. Remember,
a pair of jacks is nothing compared to aces, kings, or even queens.
Ace-queen can be a tricky hand as well as it is, again, just
good enough to get yourself into a lot of trouble with. Position
is always important in online poker and an ace-queen hand early
is potentially very dangerous while perhaps not as much from late
position. In this modern new era of aggressive play too many players
have lost everything in the mistake of overvaluing this hand.
A jack-10 suit is almost as much trouble as Big Slick in a suit.
This is a classic case of a hand in which players will “bet the
come” expecting to get the final cards on the flop to make for
a perfect hand that rarely comes to fruition.
